Go clubs for kids sweep the nation! Join us for Go in Granby!
The latest game craze from Japan is a 4,000 year old board game called Go. Thanks to the massive popularity of the Hikaru no Go manga (comic) in Shonen Jump, U.S. kids are flocking to learn this timeless game. Children’s Go clubs have formed across the nation. Last October the Granby Public Library, with the help of the Granby Go players, started a weekly club for tweens and teens.

The rules of Go are so simple they can be taught in a few minutes, but it can take a lifetime to master the game.

Beginners and players of any level are welcome. The Granby Library has Go games on hand for use; bring one if you have one. Refreshments are provided.

Summer Reading - Coming Soon!
Program begins June 4th

May is a quiet month in the children’s room as we prepare for the exciting “Wild Reads at your library” summer reading program. Infants, pre-schoolers and those who are read to are invited to join as “Read –to –Me” participants. Children and teens of all ages are also encouraged to become official “summer readers”.
The Granby Library’s “for fun”, flexible read-at- home summer program is perfect for the busy family because your child can read on vacation, at the beach, or in the car. There is no obligation to attend weekly events. Visit the library whenever or as often as you like. Ask to sign up online from May 23rd on at READS IN MA. Paper sign-up begins June 20th. Check out our mini wild habitat ~ a praying mantis egg case, soon to hatch, in the net bug pavilion.
