The meeting began at 6:40
Virginia gave us an update about our expected refund from Comcast. She has been told that we are moving through the process towards the refund. A check was promised.
Tuesday, October 19th, at 1:00, the committee to work on the Action Plan will meet at the library.
Renee gave a report on the progress of the Library Building Committee. We now have a contract with the O.P.M.; $27,500 plus $2,500 reimbursable expenses have been budgeted for this. The committee met with the architect and the O.P.M. Sites were discussed. They will come back to the committee with a report.
The deadline for the letter of intent to M.B.L.C. has been met. Virginia mailed the letter today.
The bids for painting the library are in. There are bids within our budget. The library will be painted.
Director’s Report:
Jennifer gave out new Trustee handbooks to those who needed them.
Jennifer contacted Dave Desrosiers about getting a report on the shed floor. He told us that the floor was designed to hold 40 pounds per square inch. The books are currently stacked up to 200 pounds per square inch. We have two choices;
1. Lift the shed and pour a concrete slab with supports
2. Live with it.
He also said that it should not get any worse. We will just leave it as it is.
Jennifer is still waiting to hear from the service and other libraries about the cost of the magazine subscription service.
The Friends Book & Bake Sale was very successful. They made $1,494.30 between the books and the baked goods.
The Knitting Fashion Show will be on November 13th at the Church of Christ.
There is a meeting about grant workshops on October 26th that will be attended by The Director, Virginia, Renee, and Gwen.
There was a discussion about posting the minutes from the Library Building Committee on the Town Website. We decided to put a note on the site saying that the minutes will be available at the library.
A motion was made by Gwen/ seconded by Carol to approve a warrant in the amount of $1,106.87. It was unanimously approved.
The motion to adjourn was made by Leah, and seconded by Renee at 7:45.
The next meeting will be on November 1st at 6:30.
